UK: Singles

Unlike the norwegian singles, your standard variety UK single did NOT have a picture sleeve. During the Beatles reign, only 2 of the original 22 UK singles came in a picture sleeve. All the other singles came in standard Parlophone or Apple bags. Besides, The Beatles themselves had more control over the singles release plan in the UK than in other countries. They insisted on not releasing songs from their LP's as singles, because they felt that this was "cheating" their fans. Of course, there were exceptions, but all in all this means that in the UK during the years 1962-1970, only 22 singles were released, whereas in Norway during the same time, there were 34 singles.
