Paul McCartney: Grammy Awards Concert

Musicians: Paul "Wix" Wickens, Rusty Anderson, Abe Laboriel Jr, Brian Ray and Paul McCartney.

48th Annual Grammy Awards: Paul McCartney was nominated in several categories, but failed to win. But he DID rock the house with his band, performing "Fine Line" and "Helter Skelter", and he also participated in a version of "Yesterday", performed by Jay Z and Linkin Park.

Paul McCartney: Secret Gigs

Another radio special from the concert was broadcast on NRK radio in Norway, containing the same songs and adding "Here Today," "Get Back," "Lady Madonna," and "I Saw Her Standing There". A 12" limited edition EP, Amoeba's Secret was released on Hear Music featuring "C Moon," "Only Mama Knows," "That Was Me," and "I Saw Her Standing There". In 2009 this EP was also made available as a CD, following Grammy nominations of two tracks. Furthermore, the "Ever Present Past" CD single featured "Only Mama Knows" and "Dance Tonight" from the Amoeba concert as bonus tracks, while the 7" vinyl edition of the single had "House of Wax" from the Amoeba concert on the B-side. In 2010 a free CD distributed in the UK with the newspaper Mail on Sunday contained the following songs from the Amoeba concert: "Drive My Car," "Only Mama Knows, "Dance Tonight," "C Moon," "That Was Me, "Blackbird," "Here Today," "Back in the USSR," "Get Back," Hey Jude," "Lady Madonna," "I Saw Her Standing There".

Songs from his then current album "Memory Almost Full" were strongly featured in the earlier gigs, while the later ones just had a song or two from the album. Selections from New York, Los Angeles and The ICA gig were released on various singles, as extra tracks on CD and as internet downloads. There were TV Specials from the ICA, L'Olympia and Roundhouse concerts.

Paul accepted his Outstanding Contribution Award from Kylie Minogue and rocked the house with "Dance Tonight," "Live and Let Die," "Hey Jude," "Lady Madonna," and "Get Back". The Brit Awards Show was televised on ITV with the last two songs on ITV 2.

This was the concert debut of Mrs Vanderbilt, which was prompted by a voting among Russian and Ukrainian Beatles fans in the weeks before the concert. The concert was broadcast live on Ukranian TV with monophonic sound.

Billy Joel: Final Night at Shea Stadium

Three hours into the final concert at Shea Stadium, Paul McCartney joined Billy Joel on stage. He performed "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Let It Be". Before beginning "Let It Be," Mr. McCartney alluded to the Beatles’ first concert at Shea in 1965, the year after the stadium opened. "It’s so cool to be back here on the last night," he said. "Been here a long time ago — we had a blast that night, and we’re having another one tonight." The performance was filmed for a future documentary.
