Kortfilm om Free As A Bird

Det har blitt produsert en kortfilm om tilblivelsen av Free As A Bird med de tre gjenlevende fra The Beatles i Pauls studio i 1994.
Til tross for at utgangspunktet var en demokassett fra John Lennon, så ble fremgangsmåten ifølge George Harrison at han, Paul og Ringo lagde et rammeverk og så puttet de John inn.

Filmen benytter seg både av innslag fra episode 9 i den Anthology-serien som nå går på Disney+ og tidligere usette snutter fra innspillingene og gjenforeningen av de tre.

“A Song Reborn” reveals the extraordinary 1994 reunion of Paul, George and Ringo, 24 years after The Beatles parted ways. A true collaboration became possible when Yoko Ono handed them an unfinished John Lennon composition. Crafted from never-before-seen studio footage, this short film captures the three Beatles rediscovering their bond as they shape John’s song into the GRAMMY-winning “Free As A Bird.”

This story continues in Episode Nine of The Beatles Anthology—new for 2025 and streaming now only on Disney+—featuring even more unseen sessions from 1994–95 and new reflections from Paul, George and Ringo.

The musical side of The Anthology Collection – originally curated by George Martin – has been newly remastered by Giles Martin across three double albums of rare recordings. These albums reveal the early evolution of songs that would become some of the most iconic masterpieces in popular music.

The collection also expands with Anthology 4, curated by Giles Martin, featuring 13 previously unreleased demos and session takes, alongside other rare material. It includes brand-new 2025 mixes of the GRAMMY-winning “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” refreshed by their original producer, Jeff Lynne.

A Song Reborn celebrates not only the making of a modern Beatles classic, but also the return of Anthology—a treasure trove of music, history and the enduring power of friendship.
